Tonyshare grows revenue against the trend with new technology developed in-house

Release date:2020/11/12 17:28:56

As you can see,in the first three quarters of this year our revenue increased by 57.79% and and the net profit increased by 100.77% compared with the same period of last year. Recently, during an interview at Tongyshare (Suzhou) Electronic Materials Technology Co. , Ltd. ( hereinafter to be referred as "Tonyshare" ) Chairman Lu Libin said to the reporter while pointing to the data in the newly released third-quarter report.

Since being promoted to the selection layer of the New Third Board in July, Tonyshare has made great strides. The profit in the third quarter of this year alone has reached more than 17 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 78.87%.

The company was bogged down when it started up and stuck together to survived the winter

Today's Tonyshare has become a leader in the segment of photovoltaic ribbons, but recalling the hardships in the early days of starting a business ten years ago, Lu Libin was full of emotion: "I accidentally came into contact with photovoltaic ribbons at an exhibition. At that time, the photovoltaic industry was just starting in China, and clean energy had broad market prospects. In addition, I used to do copper clad aluminum before, so I thought that's what I wanna do." In this way, Lu libin and photovoltaic ribbon forged a long-term relationship.

However when Lu Libin was about to let go of his hands and feet, the 2011 US and EU "anti-dumping" policies made the domestic PV industry enter a cold winter overnight, and many leading PV enterprises have withdrawn from the market one after another. Tonyshare, which was established less than a year ago, has suffered a lot of blows.

Should we just give up at the beginning? After deliberation, Lu Libin, who refused to admit defeat, decided to face the difficulties and survive the cold winter together with customers to keep warm. "Those days were really tough. I remember that we cooperated with a company in Jiangxi, and I supplied them with 70% of the goods. A year later, they became the best company in the industry to reverse the trend. We got through it too.”

Form a R&D team to master the core technology

At the beginning of 2014, with the strong support of domestic policies, the PV industry has ended the dilemma of "two ends outside" and ushered in a period of rapid development, but what followed is increasingly fierce industry competition.

"At that time, the overall environment was good, and more and more people took a fancy to the market prospects of photovoltaics and joined the industry. I realized that if our company cannot take the initiative, we may soon be eliminated." Feeling the pressure Lu Libin began to think about the future development direction. After an in-depth communication with customers, Lu Libin believes that only by mastering the research and development capabilities can we stand out and occupy the market. Since then, Lu Libin began to form his own R&D team.

During the interview, Lu Libin took the reporter to the company's production workshop, where 60 multi-busbar welding strip production lines were running at full speed. Lu Libin told the reporter that an ordinary solar power generation panel contains 60-72 cells, and each cell needs to be connected by grid lines. The traditional panel has five grid lines, and the production line independently developed by the company can produce special The multi-busbar welding strip required for large-scale nine-grid batteries is the most advanced technology at present. "Compared with the traditional five busbars, the production process of the nine busbars is more difficult, and the diameter needs to be 0.3 mm, which not only increases the power generation per unit of electromagnetic sheet, but also reduces the cost per unit power generation."

Don't underestimate a small copper wire, it is not so easy to make it into a very stable welding ribbon. The reporter learned that the cost of the welding strip in the whole solar energy is only 3%, but it needs to be welded with the electromagnetic sheet which accounts for 60% of the cost. The requirements of production process and equipment are very high. "Welding ribbon is a precision product. In order to ensure the stability of the welding ribbon, a tin layer must be evenly plated on the very fine copper wire. This requires very high precision. We can now achieve the indicators of each section of copper wire with a length of tens of thousands of meters can meet the requirements and maintain consistency." Lu Libin said.

Plan the layout in advance to maintain a leading position in the industry

Tonyshare has never stopped on the road of independent research and development, and Lu Libin is not satisfied with the current achievements. He told the reporter that the company's R&D team is currently studying the low-temperature welding dense grid technology.  It is expected to be put into production in the second quarter of next year.  The advent of this technology will change the existing ribbon technology. "The number of grid lines may be developed to 20 in the future, and the diameter of the welding strip will reach about 0.15 mm. At the same time, low-temperature welding can be realized, which will bring more stability to the welding strip during welding."

Lu Libin said frankly that due to the mastery of core technologies, the epidemic at the beginning of the year did not have a great impact on the company. In view of the current environment, he has made adjustments and layouts for the development direction of the company. Lu Libin is full of confidence in the smooth transfer of the board next year: "The country's '14th Five-Year Plan' has made deployments for the PV industry, and it is expected that the annual growth rate of the domestic market will remain at 30%, which gives us a reassurance. Tonyshare has a market share of 15% in welding ribbons, and as long as we focus on making products well, we will always be able to take the lead in the industry."
